NICO (he/him)
Nico has been an artist/makeup artist since the fall of 2020. He launched into the industry shortly after completing his makeup course at Lasalle College. He has worked on projects including music videos, festivals, e-commerce and weddings. His style can be described as elegant, dark, and versatile. He also does e-comm work for SSENSE since 2021.
What is the most important detail for you?
During my makeup class, I was lucky to have a Black teacher. She took considerable care to ensure that we had the necessary skills to make up all skin colours. It is thanks to her and my endless love for R&B divas that these complexions now have a very special place in my heart. I make it a personal challenge to make sure that Black people don’t need to feel afraid or uneasy when a white makeup artist is about to work with them. My job is to celebrate my clients and respect is an integral part of my practice.
